Equal Education Song

We as the VG AwareNet club have decided to compose a song to promote equal education amongst young South Africans.

Have a look at our previous project on Equal Education and pictures of our 'Low Resources Day'

It outlines the inequalities between the privileged and underprivileged schools. The aim of this project is to support minimum standards and norms being added to the South African constitution. We decided to use the instrumentals of Rihanna's We found love song. We would like for each and everyone of you to contribute to the making of the song and the performance by adding lyrics or suggesting edits. Any official South African languages are acceptable, NO VULGAR LANGUAGE!!!!! HURRY!!

1. Lyrics idea!

The VGHS awarnet group came up with a song for a flashmob performance. It was a very hard thing to do, seeing that there are a million songs to choose from. We finally came to an agreement and we think the best song is WE FOUND LOVE by RIHANNA FT CALVIN HARRIS (follow this link to hear the instrumental). We think that this is a well known song and it is everyones favourite :) we have come up with a few lyrics. here is what we have so far guys. Please feel free to add and suggest a few words. Or suggest an alternative - it would be great to have a collaborative performance.

Verse

Let's stand together, hold each other's hands,

we'll be standing side by side

Speaking out for all our friends,

preparing for our future...

It's the way we're feeling and we won't be denied,

and we'll never let it go

Chorus

Let's find a future in a hopeless place.

We want equal education.

Standards and norms for all the schools,

to build a better South Africa

It's the way we're feeling and we won't be denied,

and we'll never let it go.

(chanting ad lib)

equal education

we want education

equal education

we need education

equal education

we deserve education

equal education
