MY WONDERFUL CULTURE

MY WONDERFUL CULTURE

MY CULTURE IS THE MOST INTERESTING CULTURE IF I CAN SAY.IM NOT BEING STEREOTYPICAL OR SOMETHING IM JUST SAYING.IN MY CULTURE WE HAVE A LOT OF TRADITIONS AND A LOT OF CLANS...AND BY MY CULTURE I MEAN THE XHOSA CULTURE.US AS THE XHOSA'S WE HAVE LOTS OF CLANS AND CLAN NAMES LIKE RADEBE,TSHAWE,MQONCWA,JWARHA etc.

ITS SO SAID THAT BACK THEN YOU COULDN'T MARRY A PERSON FROM ANOTHER CLAN BUT NOW ITS NOT LIKE THAT ANYMORE IT CHANGED A LITTLE.AND OUR CULTURE IS VERY FAMOUS OF ITS SPECIAL BREW CALLED UMQOMBOTHI[AFRICAN BEER] AND WE ARE ALSO FAMOUS OF OUR SPECIAL DISH CALLED UMPHOKOQO[AFRICAN SALAD].

GRAHAMSTOWN MY TOWN

GRAHAMSTOWN MY TOWN

GRHAMSTOWN MEANS ALOT TO EACH AND EVERY PERSON INCLUDING ME BECAUSE GRAHAMSTOWN IS THE CITY OF OPPORTUNITIES.EVER SINCE I CAME TO LIVE IN GRAHAMSTOWN I'VE HAD NEVER ENDING OPPORTUNITIES TO KNOW MORE ABOUT THINGS ESPECIALLY JOBS,INSTITUTIONS AND THE KIND OF STUDIES YOU SHOULD CHOOSE.

MOST ESPECIALLY I'VE BEEN LEARNING ABOUT JOURNALISM AND FILM MAKING AND IM LEARNING A LOT OF THINGS LIKE EDITING,MAKING COOL GRAPHICS AND MOST OF ALL IM MAKING MY OWN SHOT FILM AND COMIC BOOK BUT IM DOING THE COMIC BOOK WITH MY BEST FRIEND ANATHI MADINDA.

EVEN NOW I'VE GOT ANOTHER OPPORTUNITY TO BE IN RADIO AND ITS AN OPPORTUNITY THAT I WONT LET SLIP THROUGH MY FINGERS.SO THIS IS WHY I LOVE GRAHAMSTOWN BECAUSE IT TAKES YOU FROM NOTHING TO SOMETHING THAT YOU NEVER THOUGHT YOU WOULD BE BECAUSE OF ITS NEVER ENDING OPPORTUNITIES.

LOVE,PEACE AND FREEDOM

LOVE,PEACE AND FREEDOM

LOVE,PEACE AND FREEDOM THOSE ARE THE WORDS THAT WE WERE TAUGHT TO CHERISH CAUSE THEY ARE WORTH SOMETHING.THESE ARE THE WORDS THAT TROTTE THE GLOBE.THESE ARE THE WORDS THAT MAKE OUR COUNTRY PEACEFUL AND ADORABLE.THESE ARE THE WORDS THAT EACH AND EVERY PERSON SHOULD LIVE BY.

LOVE,PEACE AND FREEDOM ARE NOT JUST WORDS THEY ARE THE SOURCE OF LIFE AND RELAXATION.DURING THE APARTHEID DAYS THERE WAS NO LOVE,NO PEACE AND FREEDOM BUT MANY PEOPLE DIED FIGHTING FOR LOVE PEACE AND FREEDOM.THEY DID'NT DID'NT DIE JUST TO SEE US THROW ALL THEIR HARDWORK IN THE BIN.SO THIS IS WHY WE SHOULD CHERISH THESE WORDS FFOR THE REST OF OUR LIVES.WE SHOULD'NT JUST CHERISH THESE WORDS WE NEED TO BE THESE WORDS.

RHODES AIDS DAY

RHODES AIDS DAY

WOW!!! WHAT A TREMENDOUS DAY WE HAD AT RHODES UNIVERSITY.

WE SPENT OUR DAY LISTENING TO JUSTICE EDWIN CAMERON TELLING US HIS STORY OF HOW HE GOT HIV AND AIDS AND HOW HE DEALT WITH IT.

IT WAS AN INTERESTING STORY AND THERE WAS SOMETHING THAT HE SAID AND I LIKED IT HE SAID AND I QUOTE "IT DOESN'T MATTER IF YOU HAVE BOOKS,DEGREES,HONOURS OR MERIT CERTIFICATES BUT AT THE END WE ARE ALL VULNERABLE.

WHEN HE SAID THAT I JUST FELT SOMETHING STRANGE IN MY BODY CAUSE FOR THE LAST TWO MONTHS I'VE BEEN BRAGGING ABOUT MYSELF BEING CLEVER AND STUFF BUT NOW I KNOW LIFE IS TOO SHORT TO BE FOOLING AROUND.

THE BEST PART IS THAT AFTER THE HIV & AIDS TALK WE WENT TO THE RHODES THEATRE TO WATCH A SHOW BY UBOM!!! CALLED HUSH AND IT WAS ALL ABOUT HIV & AIDS AND HAD A LITTLE BIT OF COMEDY IN IT BUT AT THE END IT BECAME SERIOUS AND I LIKED.

IT DOESN'T MATTER EVEN IF YOU WENT THERE ONLY TO WATCH THE SHOW BUT ALL I KNOW IS WE ALL GOT SOMETHING OUT OF IT.

P.S: ALTHOUGH JUSTICE CAMERON GOT HIV/ AIDS WHILE HE WAS GAY NOTHING STOPPED HIM FROM REACHING HIS DESTINY.

These Bruises
We do not talk about them, these bruises: the ink stains on my fingers, or the marks she left on my neck.  You do not ask me about those photographs: the smiles that remember caresses, the averted-gaze-embraces.  But I wear them – the memories and the marks – and I think you know tha...

Clans names and their role in creating a positive self esteem.
I have observed with interest people's contributions on the history of their clan names on the projects wall. It is said that it is important for a person to know his or her own past in order to be able to make proper plans for his/her future. Knowing oneself contributes to a positive self esteem. A...
